　マリアはチカに「セレニタの誕生日は6月25日なの。あなたの誕生日は?」と言った。チカは「私6月18日生まれよ」と言った。するとマリアは「来年祝ってあげるわ」と言った。
　その夜、チカはひどくうなされてたのでセレニタは「どうしたの」と言った。するとチカは「私が生まれた星が闇に包まれたので、住める星を探してたの。でもこの前カウルクァッペが私たちの宇宙船を襲ってね、天井がお父さんの上に崩れ落ちてたの」と言った。セレニタは「そのカウルクェー…、カウルクワオアー…、カウル何とかって言うのは何なんだよ」と言った。チカは「地球の言葉で何と言うのかしら…。それから私の足下でも床が裂けて落ちて、その後どうなったか憶えてないの」と言った。セレニタは「今度そのカウル何とかってのが来たらぼくがぶっ倒してやる」と言った。

　西暦1178年6月、月面で爆発が起きました。その日付は、本によって25日だったり18日だったりします。これらの日付をセレニタとチカの誕生日にしました。カウルクァッペというのはドイツ語で「オタマジャクシ」という意味です。学校の図書室にカエルの本があったんですが、カエルとオタマジャクシの、様々な言葉での呼び方が載ってました。
