　夕方、暗くなった時、一人のエンジニアが、仕事を終えて家に向かっていた。その名はマックスであった。その時西の空に満月が見えていた。 マックスは、その満月に気がつくと、「復活祭の後で満月は出ないはずだが・・・、そもそもこの時間に満月が西に出る事はあり得ん」と言った。よく見たら、その月は動いていて、段々と近づいて来るように見えた。それは直径が10メートル程の、空を飛ぶ球体で、全体が月のような光を放っていた。その球体は、少し離れた所に着陸すると、ハッチが開いて、一人の銀髪の少女が出て来て、マックスに「あなた。機械に詳しいんでしょ。宇宙船を直してくれますか」と言った。するとマックスは逃げようと思ったが、宇宙人が作った機械も見たかったので、しばらく迷っていたが、「一応見てみよう」と言って、彼女と共に球体に入って行った。少女は「私の名前はレイア。ムサイ星団のエウテルペという星から来たの」と言った。マックスが「ムサイ星団は聞いたことが無いな」と言うと、レイアは星図を持って来て、りゅうこつ座のシータ星を指差した。するとマックスは「IC2602じゃないか。地球ではシータ・カリーナ星団と言ってる」と言った。そして彼は、中の機械を見たが、見た事の無い、色々な部品があった。球体は、外から見ると、全体が一枚の板のようであったが、中からは、窓から外を見る事が出来た。レイアがマックスに、いくつかの図面を見せると、マックスは「この部分はわかるが、地球の技術では作れないな」と言った。そんなわけで、マックスの自宅で新しい宇宙船を作って、使える部品を組み込む事にした。

　数日後、全長10メートル程の、カエルの形をした物体が出来上がった。マックスは「これはロケットならぬケロットだ」と言った。マックスが、カエルの前足のスイッチを押すと、カエルが前足を曲げて、地面に顔を近づけて口を開けた。そしてマックスとレイアはカエルの口から入って行った。その後、カエルは口を閉じて、また前足を真っ直ぐにして、顔を前に向けた。マックスは「打ち上げるぞ」と言って、スイッチを入れた。するとカエルが太ももから空薬莢を排出しながらジャンプし、同時に前足が根本から取れた。そして後ろ脚を真っ直ぐに伸ばしたまま、足の裏からロケット噴射を始めた。そしてカエルの背中の一部が後方にスライドして伸びて、尻尾のような形になった。そして目が引っ込んで、顔が平らになって、後ろ足が生えたオタマジャクシのようになった。大気圏を出ると、両足が根本から外れて、尻尾からロケット噴射を始めた。ケロットはオタマジャクシのような形になった。後はレイアの星に向かうだけであった。

　レイアはマックスにアルバムを見せた。するとマックスは「女ばっかりじゃないか。男はいないのか」と言った。するとレイアは「え、この人は男よ」と言って、一人を指差した。マックスには、その人物は女性にしか見えなかった。レイアは他にも何人かを指差しながら「この人も男で、この人も男よ」と言った。マックスが「どうやって見分けるんだ」と言うと、レイアは「見ればわかるよ」と言った。しかしマックスには、どの人物も、女性にしか見えなかった。そこでマックスが、沢山の地球人の写真が載っている本をレイアに見せた。するとレイアは、男性を地球人と言い、女性を男と女に分けた。マックスは「お前は男女どっちなんだ」と言った。するとレイアは「私は男よ」と言った。

　レイアの故郷の星が見えるようになった。ケロットがその星の大気圏に突入すると、機体が大気の摩擦熱で燃え始めた。そして地上に近づくと爆発して、煙の中から直径3メートル程の球体が飛び出した。球体はパラシュートを開いて、着地した。そしてハッチが開いて、マックスとレイアが外に出た。そして二人は、その場所に駆け付けた救助隊に救出された。

　翌日、レイアはいなかったが、マックスはレストランに連れて行かれた。同行していた者がマックスに「地球人は男と女を見分けられないそうだな。私は男でマイアという名だ。この店では、料理をしている者は皆男性で、女性のウエイトレスが料理を運んで来るんだ」と言った。食事が済んだ後、マックスは宇宙空港に連れて行かれた。そして、直径2メートル程の球体に乗るように言われた。宇宙空港の職員が「この宇宙船は自動で地球に行きます。大体5時間程で着くはずだ。燃料は片道分しか無いかし、わずかに余った燃料も自動で無害化して放出するので、使い終わった後で、壊れた時に爆発する心配は無い」と言った。そしてマックスは、地球に帰った。

Please repair my spacecraft.” Then Max intended to escape, but he wanted to look machines which extra terrestrial had made, therefore he hesitated over which to choose a while. But he said, “Tentatively, I see your machine.” , and followed her, and went into the sphere. She said, “I am Leia. I've come from a star Euterpe of the Muses star cluster.” Max said, “I've never heard the Muses ster cluster.” And Leia brought him a star map, and pointed the Theta Carinæ star custer. Then Max said, “It's the IC2602, isn't it!? We earthians call it the Theta Carinæ star cluster!” And he saw te inner machines, but those were unknown parts. The whole outside of the sphere was like a single plate, but he was able to look out of the window. Leia showed some drawings when, Max said, “I can understand this part, but it isn't able to be built with the Earthian technology.” Therefore they decided to make a new spacecraft in Max's house, and incorporate usable parts. After several days, a frog shaped object that has a total length of 10 meters, got been completed. Max said, “This isn't a rocket, it is a frogket.” Max pushed a switch on the frog's forepaw. And the frog bent the both forepaws, and brought its face close to the ground, and opened the mouth. And Max and Leia went into the frog's mouth. And the frog closed the mouth, and straightened the forepaws, and turned the face to the front. Max said, We launch. , and switched on. And the frog discharged cartridges from the thighs while jumping. And the same time, its forepaws got been aparted from the base of the forepaws. And it kept the hindpaws stretching, and started to emit jets from the soles. And a part of the frog's back slided backward, and lengthened and took the form of a tail. And the eyes retracted, and the face smoothed, and it took the form of a tadpole that had grown hindpaws. It exited upon the atmosphere. And both hindpaws got been aparted from the base of the hindpaws. And it started to emit a jet from the tail. Thus Frogket took the form of a tadpole. After that, they had to go only toward Leia's planet. Leia showed her album to Max. Then Max said, “All the members are females only, Don't males exist?” Then Leia said, “Why? He is a male.” , and poined one person of them. But Max wasn't able to see the person only to female. Leia pointed some other persons, while saying, “This is a male, and this is a male too.” Max said, “How do you distinguish males between females?” And Leia said, “Appearances give me a fair idea of What the persons are males or females.” But any peoples look like females only. for Max. And Max showed a book that carries many photos of Earthians, to Leia. And Leia pointed males, and said that They are Earthians, and divided females into males and females. Max said, “Which are you a male or a female?” And Leia said, I am a male.

Leia's home planet came into view. Frogket that had transformed into the shape of a tadpole, plunged into the atmosphere of the planet, and the hull began to burn by atmospheric frictional heat. And it approached the ground when, it exploded. And a sphere was three meters in diameter that flew out of the smoke. And the sphere opened a parachute, and landed. And a hatch of the sphere opened. And Max and Leia came out. And a rescue team rushed to the place, and rescued them.

At the next day, Leia didn't exist. But Max got been taken to a restaurant. The companion said to Max, “I've heard that Earthians can't distinguish males and females. I am a male, and my name is Maia. In this restaurant, all cooks are males. And female waitresses come carrying dishes.” After they finished eating, Max got been taken to a space airport. And he got been told to get on a sphere that was for about two meters in diameter. A staff of the space airport said, “This spacecraft go to the Earth automatically. It will arrive in for about five hours. It has been refueled only one way. And after it finished to be used, it detoxifies and releases the fuel that had been left slightly, automatically, therefore it is no risk of exploding, when it got been broken.” And Max went back to the Earth.
